Boral has announced the completed acquisition of the recently-built Wallan Concrete plant, which the company says provides extra capacity to serve customers in the growth corridor of Melbourne’s outer north.
In a statement on Thursday, the subsidiary of Seven Group Holdings said the plant – which operates six days a week and is located 45 kilometres north of the city – complemented its concrete batching plant and quarry at Wollert
“We know the long-term growth projection in Melbourne, particularly to the north is strong, and Wallan Concrete’s proximity to the market, adjacent to the Hume Freeway, makes it well-positioned to service existing and future customers,” said Matt McKenzie, Boral’s Executive General Manager of Concrete & Quarries South.
“The plant is practically brand new and we’re very excited to have this great asset now part of our integrated operations and its potential to supply key projects in the Melbourne North region.”
The Wallan Concrete plant was built in 2023 by previous owner, quarry business Conundrum Holdings.
