Building-integrated photovoltaics company ClearVue Technologies has received the first order for its solar building envelope solution, which will be installed at the Enex100 building on St George’s Terrace in Perth’s CBD.
In a statement on Tuesday, the company told investors that the upcoming cladding installation – expected to be installed in mid-2025 – was validation for a commercial strategy “to offer a complete solar façade product suite” to the developers, architects and owners of buildings.
ClearVue said its Each of our product range, including its flagship Vision Glass, solar spandrel solution, solar cladding, and solar skylight comprised its ClearVue Power Façade.
Global CEO Martin Deil said the sale was “pivotal” for the company, and the solution could be used in both retrofit and new construction projects, lowering energy use and emissions and operating costs for buildings.
“ClearVue solar cladding is one of the many ClearVue products now available that make up our solar building envelope solution that is essential for achieving net zero energy buildings, and this initial order demonstrates we are on the right path. We look forward to working with [property owner] ISPT on their first project,” said Deil.
“The purchase order is for over 200 architectural pure black PV building envelope modules of ClearVue design to be installed within ClearVue’s proprietary framing system.”
Garry Hendrix, Senior Engineer at ISPT, said it reviewed several solutions but favoured ClearVue products for the project “due to the innovative design that delivers the key deployment requirements” sought.
“For ISPT, it is crucial to enhance the sustainability and thereby the value of our property portfolio while meeting our tenants’ and stakeholders’ broader ESG expectations,” said Hendrix.
We were the first Australian property company to achieve carbon neutrality across our portfolio in 2020 and we challenge ourselves to become carbon positive from 2025.”
