Eleven Tasmanian businesses awarded grants

Manufacturing News

Eleven businesses have been awarded approximately $870,000 under the final round of the Tasmanian government’s Advanced Manufacturing Accelerating Growth Program.

Grants are worth up to $100,000 each on a co-contribution basis and assist manufacturers “to purchase capital equipment, linked to an off island market driven expansion opportunity with resulting increased employment.”

Round four recipients (a list is reproduced below) include IoT business Definium Technologies, aquaculture cleaning equipment maker Aqua Clean Tas, and signage company Eye Spy Signs and Safety.

“From Wynyard, Little Swanport and Hobart, to Quoiba, Ulverstone and Geeveston, projects receiving funding stretch right across the state,” said state manufacturing and defence industry minister Madeleine Ogilvie in a statement on Wednesday.

“It is particularly important that our regional businesses have support that helps expand their operations as they are some of the biggest supporters of jobs and growth in many small communities around Tasmania.
