To Geoff Wadsworth, co-CEO of Toowoomba, Queensland based Russell Mineral Equipment, resilience is having the right supply chain, and the right materials, skills and capabilities to make sure you can satisfy customer needs when they want them.
A speaker at @AuManufacturing’s upcoming webinar – Lessons in Resilience – to Geoff that means not only optimising his own value chain, but reaching into the many companies RME buys from to manufacture its complex mining mill relining equipment to optimise their supply chains as well.
RME’s RUSSELL Mill Relining Machine is essentially a massive automated machine that reaches in to mine mills to remove and replace their linings – with customers all over the world relying on the company to deliver.
“We are using parts – 3,000 to 4,000 of them – from a wide range of supplier companies so it is important that these supply chains are well integrated with our own,” said Wadsworth.
“It is universal truth that if you don’t have and your suppliers don’t have everything they need they can’t make anything.”
