Space systems and satellite sector manufacturer Inovor Technologies has become the latest company to graduate from the Lockheed Martin Mentor Protégé Program which mentors the leadership teams of key defence suppliers to the company.
Inovor joins Clearbox Systems, the first supplier to graduate outside the US, and Silentium Defence which have also benefitted from the Lockheed Martin programme. AW Bell is the fourth Australian SME participant in the programme.
Inovor’s leadership team completed an intensive 12-month mentoring programme with Lockheed Martin subject matter experts in Australia and the United States.
They covered core capabilities, including human resource processes, business ethics, contracting, product management, export controls, quality management systems, supply chain risk management, competitive intelligence and cyber security readiness.
The Founder and CEO of Inovor Technologies Matt Tetlow said the programme has helped the company develop next level capabilities.
Tetlow said: “By accessing Lockheed Martin’s world-class subject matter experts, we have taken a major step forward in the capacity and competency of our leadership team that will significantly accelerate our ability to innovate and grow.”
Lockheed Martin Australia’s regional director for Space David Ball said that by accelerating the development of core SME capabilities, the programme delivered a strategic impact for participants with customers, while creating the potential for new export opportunities.
Ball said: “Throughout the programme, Inovor Technologies demonstrated their ability to learn, adapt and grow, reinforcing their potential to compete in space and defence industries globally.”
Inovor’s participation in the Mentor Protégé Program was jointly sponsored by Lockheed Martin Space and Lockheed Martin Australia’s Office of Australian Industrial Participation through the Global Supply Chain Program.
Lockheed Martin set up the programme in 1990 to establish successful long-term relationships with small, innovative businesses, while helping them develop technical and business capabilities.
