{"id":17400,"date":"2019-02-06T10:12:28","date_gmt":"2019-02-05T23:42:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/?p=17400"},"modified":"2021-01-14T13:55:30","modified_gmt":"2021-01-14T03:25:30","slug":"brickworks-joins-forces-with-fbr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/brickworks-joins-forces-with-fbr","title":{"rendered":"Brickworks joins forces with FBR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leading brick manufacturer Brickworks Building Products (ASX: BKW) has joined forces with robotics company FBR (ASX: FBR) to automate bricklaying operations.<\/p>\n<p>The two companies have annouced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a joint venture, Fastbrick Australia Pty Ltd, to provide &#8216;Wall as a Service&#8217; (WaaS) services to the construction market.<\/p>\n<p>Fastbrick will charge customers by the square metre of wall built, and exclusively utilise FBR&#8217;s Hadrian X bricklaying robot and Brickworks masonry blocks in its Australian operations.<\/p><div class=\"wooco-content\" id=\"wooco-1139776906\"><div style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"wooco-176978569\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/page.spee3d.com\/download-spee3d-heavy-industry-whitepaper?utm_campaign=Au%20Manufacturing%20Lead%20Gen%202024&#038;utm_source=AuManufacturing_campaign_1\" class=\"adv-link\" aria-label=\"SPEE3D_BannerAds-468&#215;60\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/SPEE3D_BannerAds-468x60-1.png\" alt=\"\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/SPEE3D_BannerAds-468x60-1.png 468w, https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/SPEE3D_BannerAds-468x60-1-300x38.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" width=\"468\" height=\"60\"  style=\"display: inline-block; max-width: 100%; height: auto;\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<p>FBR chief executive, Mike Pivac said: &#8220;Partnering with a company of the scale and reputation of Brickworks is a significant step forward for FBR in commercialisation of the Hadrian X and provides an excellent opportunity to introduce the Wall as a Service business model.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our relationship with Brickworks will significantly accelerate the global commercialisation of our technology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hadrian X is a large-scale collaborative robot that works with experienced operators to construct structural brickwork from blocks 12 times the size of a conventional brick.<\/p><div class=\"wooco-in-content-after-par-6\" id=\"wooco-982431926\"><div style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"wooco-1084162468\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sew-eurodrive.com.au\/home.html\" class=\"adv-link\" aria-label=\"Auman_Second ad within content_Quality, Service+Delivery\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Auman_Second-ad-within-content_Quality-ServiceDelivery-e1713733941954.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"468\" height=\"60\"  style=\"display: inline-block; max-width: 100%; height: auto;\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Mounted onto a classic cab over engine truck for easy transport to building sites, Hadrian X&#8217;s telescopic arm automatically feeds bricks to to a precision bricklayer.<\/p>\n<p>Pivac said: &#8220;Fastbrick Australia will be the first robotic WaaS entity established in the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The two companies will begin a pilot project in Perth with a focus on residential construction.<\/p>\n<p>The Fastbrick system uses CAD technology to design buildings in 3D and generate a materials list.<\/p>\n<p>While the MOU, to be signed within 45 days, applies to the Australian market, it should be noted that Brickworks is a significant brick producer in the United States market.<\/p>\n<p>Brickworks managing director, Lindsay Partridge said: &#8220;We are pleased to be able to leverage our experience and capabilities to manufacture customised blocks for use by FBR&#8217;s Hadrian X robots, and have the opportunity to secure exclusive block supply rights for these robots in the Australian market.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Picture: FBR\/Hadrian X<\/p>\n<p>Subsccribe to our free @AuManufacturing newsletter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aumanufacturing.com.au\/subscribe\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leading brick manufacturer Brickworks Building Products (ASX: BKW) has joined forces with robotics company FBR (ASX: FBR) to automate bricklaying operations.
