100th Boeing P-8 utilising Australian composites.

Boeing Defence Australia CEO Darren Edwards is celebrating this week the completion of the company’s 100th P-8 Poseidon aircraft.
Each plane carries composite ailerons designed and built by Boeing in Melbourne.
Australia’s eight P-8A Poseidon aircraft are stationed at RAAF base Edinburgh north of Adelaide where 11 squadron carries out long rage surveillance and anti-submarine and surface ship roles. Eleven further aircraft are on order.
“Boeing Aero-structures Australia employs more than 1,000 people and exports 100% of their products,” says Edwards.
“Go team Australia!”
The company’s main products are the movable surfaces for Boeing’s 787 aircraft, with the local company holding full engineering responsibility for the structures.
