Grant applications are open for the $2 million federal and Victorian government-funded Victorian Circular Economy Recycling Modernisation Fund, covering recycling and remanufacturing of plastic, paper, cardboard, and tyres.
The program’s third round is open to businesses and councils to assist investment in new facilities or upgrades to existing ones.
Grants through the program, administered by Sustainability Victoria, are worth between $50,000 and $500,000, and cover up to 25 per cent of project costs. (For local governments the grants cover up to a third of costs.)
“This $2 million in funding builds on more than $68 million in joint Australian and Victorian government funding that has already been awarded to 21 infrastructure projects across Victoria, said federal environment minister Tanya Plibersek on Tuesday.
According to the federal government, this will support over 270 new full-time jobs and processing 322,000 tonnes of glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, and tyre waste annually.
Applications are open until 11:59 pm, September 27. More information is available here.
