Applications opened on Wednesday for grants in the third round of the federal BioMedTech Horizons program.
Up to $1 million in assistance can be accessed under the initiative, which supports “proof-of-concept to commercial development” of biomedtech ideas. Grants are administered by the MTPConnect growth centre.
According to a statement from federal health minister Greg Hunt, the round will fund projects in the three focus areas.
Successful applicants from round two of the program are currently being finalised. Round one has supported projects including a handheld “BioPen” 3D printer for repairing cartilage (pictured).
