ICN makes industry collaboration easier

Industry Capability Network (ICN) today relaunches the ICN Gateway after undergoing a comprehensive overhaul making it easier for project owners to promote their projects and suppliers to find work and promote their capabilities.

The relaunched gateway, dubbed ‘New Business, Upgraded’, tackles the challenge for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in breaking into new or expanding supply chains.

Suppliers have access to projects worth more than $400bn to the Australian economy from Rheinmetall, Shell, John Holland, Rio Tinto and BAE Systems and others.

ICN executive director Warren Jansen said: “Finding, applying for and winning new business can be tough, expensive, time consuming and in many cases a matter of luck – who you know or being in the right place at the right time.

“Gateway aims to make that task easier for Australian industry.”

Jansen said ICN had implemented a robust new Strategic Plan which included the overhaul of ICN systems to better serve its stakeholders.

“ICN has a proven track record of providing full, fair and reasonable access to local opportunities.

“Since being created over 30 years ago, we helped local businesses find $30 billion worth of contracts to keep them working and growing.”

ICN plans to add further new features for its customers over the coming months.

ICN chair Derek Lark said: “If you’re a project manager get in touch with your local ICN office to find out how you can save time and money in the procurement process.

“And if you’re an SME looking to expand your business, make sure you register your details on ICN Gateway.”

The relaunch has been supported by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER).

Gateway complements the Australian Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy and Australian industry participation (AIP) policy.
