ClearVue subsidiary lands first commercial greenhouse contract

ClearVue Technologies subsidiary OptiCrop has secured its first commercial project worth approximately $80,000 for ground-source heat exchange technology at a greenhouse installation.

The ASX-listed company announced on Wednesday that OptiCrop will provide its proprietary cooling solution for a one-acre greenhouse being built by a global irrigation and greenhouse provider.

The cooling coils will optimise nutrient fluid temperatures that feed elevated plant gutters across the greenhouse, supporting improved plant growth and energy efficiency.

OptiCrop became a wholly owned subsidiary of ClearVue following the acquisition of ROOTS Sustainable Agricultural Technologies' intellectual property and assets in November 2024.

Global chief executive Martin Deil said the first sale was a significant milestone for the company's agricultural technology division and demonstrated early commercial traction in the protected cropping space.

“It validates our strategic direction following the acquisition of ROOTS and underlines the strong market potential for integrated solar greenhouses and sustainable climate-control solutions,” Deil said.

The project will be delivered for OptiCrop's client by a global leader in precision irrigation solutions that operates in more than 110 countries and has irrigated over 10 million hectares serving more than two million farmers.

OptiCrop's product portfolio combines ClearVue's greenhouse solar glass technology with newly acquired patented systems including Irrigation by Condensation and Root Zone Temperature Optimization.

The technologies aim to improve crop yield while reducing energy use, strengthen food security and transform agriculture through more sustainable, water and energy efficient solutions.
