Recipients of grants under Round 5 of the state government’s Supply Chain Uplift Program have been announced, with approximately $800,000 awarded to 11 Victorian businesses.

State manufacturing minister Colin Brooks visited Hanwha Defence Australia's Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) at Avalon Airport on Monday to announce grants to Blueroom Simulations, EnyGy, Lunar Outpost, R&I Instrument & Gear Co., Ribcraft Marine, Ronson Gears, Skills Leap Australia, Stahl Metall, Total Precision, TRJ Engineering and Vokke.

SCUP offers grants up to $100,000 to support manufacturers’ projects including systems or facility upgrades, industry accreditations, and R&D programs aimed at better competing for contracts under the Land 8116 Self-Propelled Howitzer or Land 400 Phase 3 – Infantry Fighting Vehicle programs. Both programs are led by Hanwha.

Ben Hudson, CEO of Hanwha Defence Australia and Europe/UK, said, “From capital investment to DISP accreditation, it’s great to see SMEs investing to make sure they are ready to do business with us in current and future Defence programs.”

To be eligible, companies must be Victorian based, seeking to enter the supply chain for either project, and contribute at least half the project’s value.

More information on the program is available here.
