A new export and trade “shop window’ to India

Analysis and Commentary

It comes as a surprise to learn that Austrade no longer provides a readily accessible directory of Australia’s manufacturer exporters. Here John Sheridan explains how his new trade showcase is a model for showing Australian capabilities to the world.

The Australia – India Export & Trade showcase is a Business to Business (B-to-B) platform designed to connect Australian exporters to buyers in India.

Supported by Australia India Business Pty Ltd, with representatives in both countries, the platform presents businesses in Education & Training, Agribusiness & Food, Mining & Exploration, Health & Medical, ICT & Robotics and Energy.

These are all sectors where Australia has innovative products and services on offer.

There are many Australia companies with domestic and export potential, and many Australia companies that could deliver value in countries across the world.

We just need to show other countries what we can offer.

A new trade agreement with India has opened a door for both countries, providing an opportunity to expand business to business relationships for mutual benefit.

The new platform expands on what our trade agencies do with trade events, promoting Australian products and services 24 x7, 365 days a year.

It is really a virtual shop window to the world.

And this is just the first of many such showcases – we will be adding more showcases over the next few weeks. Until we can showcase Australian businesses in every country of interest.

We need to promote and showcase our innovations to the world in a more regular, consistent and targeted manner than we do at present, and now we can.

Last week, Australia did not have a ‘shop window’ to the world – now it does.

John Sheridan co-founded Digital Business insights to help organisations leverage the benefits of the new digital economy. He is the co-creator of the RED Toolbox, an innovation platform for Australia’s productive industry sectors.
