ABT fail-safe brakes lead business recovery






Specialist braking systems manufacturer Advanced Braking Systems has continued its year-long turnaround in the third quarter of the financial year posting strong sales gains.

The Perth company reported sales of $1.9 million in the third quarter, up 23 per cent on the previous corresponding period.

Sales for the first nine months of the year of $6.2 million are up 20 per cent on the previous financial year.

Advanced Braking manufactures its Terra Dura and Failsafe brands for specialised uses in harsh, extreme environments.

Its patented Sealed Integrated Braking Systems are the brakes of choice for commercial vehicles used in the Australian mining sector, and are used extensively in construction fields.

The company told investors it continued to operate effectively during the Covid-19 pandemic, with its supply chain functioning normally.

CEO John Annand said: “We are…focusing our efforts on maintaining business continuity.

“We have seen a steady demand for our products throughout this period and will continue to evaluate the conditions ro ensure the ongoing success and viability of our business.”

Advanced Braking supplies braking systems for multiple electric vehicle platforms and makes brakes for vehicles to be used in constructing the Westconnex tunnel in Melbourne.
