ACE EV launches its V1 Transformer electric van

Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen and other members of parliament inspected the ACE EV Transformer electric van (pictured) during its official launch yesterday at Sydney’s Smart Energy Expo.

Bowen was joined by Zali Steggall and Senator David Pocock who were shown vehicle features including advanced composite molding technology and a smart mobile energy systems which can be integrated with the electrical grid.

The van is an all composite structure made up of a 14-part ‘skeleton’ and a 58-part ‘skin’.

According to managing director Greg McGarvie: “This is the 61st Smart Energy Council event, showing Australia is past ready for its own EV advanced manufacturing industry with a government poised to facilitate advanced manufacturing.

“Why electric Vehicle’s? Because Australia has all the resources and now poised to roll out its own EV Manufacturing Industry, ACE EV Group with forward orders and contracts worth over $15 million.”

The V1 Transformer van on show was completed in Brisbane only a week ago.

ACE EV is assembling 20 vans under a contract with Woolworths to produce custom designed trolley collectors for trial evaluation.

ACE EV offers a small utility vehicle, the Yewt, as well as the van.
