Metal additive manufacturing quality assurance company Additive Assurance has partnered with Dutch machinery manufacturer Additive Industries to enhance laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) monitoring and quality control.
The companies will partner to offer the Australian company’s AMiRIS in situ process monitoring with Additive Industries’ MetalFab portfolio of machines.
The collaboration leverages the strengths of both companies to improve the process monitoring of additively manufactured parts in high performance applications, according to a statement.
Additive Industries is a major manufacturers of metal L-PBF machines including their their newest machine; the MetalFab 300 Flex that offers an on-demand platform size.
The CEO of Additive Assurance Marten Jurg said: “We are delighted to be working with Additive Industries to add value to their customers’ experience and to push the boundaries of what is possible with L-BF AM.”
As AM printers are increasing build rates and productivity, the requirement for in-process monitoring and quality assurance is becoming essential in many industries to ensure repeatability and generate high production yields.
Additive Industries has identified the market gap with Additive Assurance’s AMiRIS system offering the ability to inspect quality during production.
This can accelerate the quality validation process and ultimately lead to higher yield and production consistency of L-PBF manufactured parts.
AMiRIS addresses the QA challenge with state-of-the-art in situ monitoring, enabling manufacturers to detect and address quality problems during production.
AMiRIS strengthens certification and quality assurance efforts, ultimately leading to shorter production cycles and higher confidence in the final product’s quality.
