Adherium gets US sales approval

Australasian smart asthma inhaler device maker Adherium (ASX: ADR) has received US Food and Drug Administration clearance for over the counter sales of its Hailie sensors.

The company, founded in New Zealand, listed in Australia and headquartered in the United States, manufactures connected respiratory devices.

Its’ Hailie sensor attaches to a patient’s asthma inhaler, monitoring usage, reminding patients if they miss a dose, and making data available to physicians.

Adherium CEO, Arik Anderson said Hailie was the culmination of 15 years research on how to make taking medication second nature to patients.

“Today, through advances in technology, the power of real-time feedback, and data science we can cross that last mile in achieving better health.”

Hailie, originally known as Smartinhaler, is a system of Bluetooth enabled devices and apps.

The company has sold 130,000 devices globally.
