ADN produces first milk powder

Australian Dairy Nutritionals Group has successfully produced milk powder at the group’s new infant formula plant at Camperdown in Victoria.

The company told investors its next steps in what it called a cornertsone project were to refine the operational parameters of the plant and the resultant powders, as well as conduct trials on infant formula production.

ADN in joint venture with Wellnex Life has been developing Ocean Road Dairies organic infant formula for sale through Chemist Warehouse, Australia’s largest formula retailer.

The company said first commercial production of its organic A2 infant formula was now scheduled for June, with ranging in Chemist Warehouse stores targeted for the second half of this calendar year.

The range will be the first Australian made organic A2 infant formula range made with Australian milk.

Organic A2 milk is being sourced from ADN’s high quality dairy farms in south eastern Victoria.

ADN also said that while the global supply chain for infant formula ingredients had been very challenging, it had been able to secure all the critical ingredients required to make the formula locally.

Its infant formula production plant had also secured its domestic dairy licence and was certified for the production of organic whole milk and skim milk powders.

In March ADN raised $4.5 million through a share placement to expand distribution opportunities in Asia.
