Alexium introduces new fabric cooling technology

Chemistry technology company Alexium International has introduced a new fabric and foam products cooling system to complement its core range.

The company’s new Alexicool Phonon product cools bedding, upholstery and apparel materials by counteracting the insulative effect of textiles, moving heat away from the consumer.

Until now the company’s technology has worked by absorbing heat from the body, or by adding flame retarding features to fabrics.

Alexium told investors that its patented technologies had been tested on consumers and would be applied initially to bedding and mattresses.

Alexium CEO Bob Brookins said cooling systems had become a critical selling feature for premium mattresses and bedding.

“Alexium has garnered a deserved reputation for bedding technical innovation and analytics via its Alexicoool products.

“(It is) particularly exciting to announce today a truly disruptive platform technology, one which we believe can change the narrative in relation to thermal management solutions.”

Alexium is listed on the ASX and headquartered in South Carolina..
