Amaero launches two new metal 3D printers

Metal additive manufacturing technology company Amaero International has launched two new machines plus additional metal powder handling equipment.

The company, which makes 3D printers and offers 3D manufacturing services, has launched the SP260 and SP400 complementing its launch machines.

The new machines are production machines and feature rapid job changeover capabilities, optimised powder usage and variable part build volumes.

Designed and engineered in Australia, the SP260 has a build chamber volume of 250mm x 250 x 400, while the SP400 machine has a volume of 400mm x 400 x 400.

Like the existing SP100 and SP500 machines, the new printers are ideal for the aviation, defence and biomedical sectors.

Launching the new machines Amaero said it now had one of the safest, most cost/capital efficient and diverse ranges of metal 3D printers on the market.

CEO Barrie Finnin said: “After the addition of the new machines to the line-up, Amaero’s product list meets the market’s requirements for small and mid-sized machines, addressing a larger segment of the market.”

Amaero was established with the support of Monash University, and operates additive manufacturing production facilities in Adelaide, and El Segundo, California.
