Drone countermeasures company DroneShield has promoted its software engineering team leader Angus Harris to CTO, with Chief Product & Technology Officer Angus Bean moving into the role of Chief Product Officer.
According to a statement from DroneShield, which recently became an ASX200 company, Harris’s appointment reflected the company’s “continued growth and organisational maturity” as it scales to meet demand internationally from defence and government markets.
CEO Oleg Vornik added that Harris “has already been performing in a senior technology leadership capacity as VP of Software Engineering, demonstrating technical capability, operational discipline, and collaboration across the business.
“His appointment as CTO adds to the senior talent bench talent and positions the Company to deliver the next generation of counter-drone solutions, especially as the Company is seeking for SaaS to grow substantially as a proportion of its revenues.”
Bean, an industrial designer by background and “a foundational member” of the company’s tech leadership, will concentrate on advancing the “global product vision and long-term technology roadmap, ensuring that innovation, engineering capability, and customer outcomes remain tightly aligned” according to DroneShield.
Earlier this month, DroneShield announced that it will invest $13 million in a new R&D facility at Adelaide, expected to initially employ 20 in engineering roles and its first R&D office in Australia outside of its Sydney headquarters.
