Defence

Display manufacturer APC Technology, is to supply Generic Vehicle Architecture (ASGVA) displays for Hanwha Defence Australia’s (HDA) Redback infantry fighting vehicles.

The contract under the government’s LAND 400 Phase 3 programme makes APC Technology the sole domestic supplier of GVA screens for the project.

The ASGVA screens, designed and manufactured by APC Technology in Adelaide, will utilise a predominantly Australian supply chain, fostering local job creation and expertise, according to a statement.

Managing Director of APC Technology Craig Williams said: “This project is a testament to the world-class capabilities of Australian engineering and manufacturing.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with HDA and contribute to the LAND 400 Phase 3 programme with our innovative GVA screen technology.

UK based APC Technology manufactures specialist electronic components and systems, property technologies, and connectivity products.

The Australian business will add more than 10 new roles and increase its Design and Engineering Capacity to serve the programme.

The project will leverage a predominantly Australian supply chain, develop strategies to manage product obsolescence and plan for future capability upgrades required for Redback and other vehicles.

“This project presents a unique opportunity to not only deliver high-quality GVA screens but also foster innovation within the Australian defence industry.

“Future advancements in GVA screen technology will benefit from the knowledge and expertise gained through this programme.”
