Round 2 of the South Australian government’s Manufacturing Technology Adoption Program (MTAP), offering up to $50,000 in matched funding, is now open for applications.

According to an update from the department of state development on Monday, the program aims to help SMEs “to keep pace to remain competitive, enhance productivity, and unlock opportunities for growth” by supporting them “with upfront costs associated with adopting innovative technologies in their business.”

MTAP lists technologies as including (but not limited to) artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, blockchain, augmented and virtual reality, additive manufacturing, industrial Internet of Things, and photonics.

Eligible projects will “develop new or enhanced products, increase entry into new markets and/or boost competitiveness, and lift productivity by enabling workers to engage in more creative, value-adding tasks.”

Grant applications are open until September 29. Guideline information is available here.
