NSW councils have been invited to apply for the third round of the Local Government Waste Solutions Fund, offering grants up to $200,000 for individual councils to invest in recycling technology.
According to a statement from the NSW Environment Protection Authority on Monday, approximately $1.9 million was awarded to the recently-announced round two winners, supporting ten projects across 25 local government areas.
Applicants were welcomed to form groups of two or more eligible councils, with grants up to $400,000 available to each group.
NSW EPA Executive Director, Alexandra Geddes, said: “We’re thrilled with the innovative and collaborative approaches brought forward so far, from extending the life cycle of materials to engaging communities in meaningful ways.
“We’re calling for more forward-thinking solutions, whether through community engagement or new recovery techniques, these grants give councils the tools to make a lasting impact on our environment.”
Applications close on December 12. More information is available at this link.
