Arnott’s Group crunches into Melbourne with new facility

Arnott’s Group opened its new manufacturing facility in Rowville, Victoria, on Friday, marking a significant expansion of its better-for-you product capabilities.

The 45,000-square-metre site, which produces breakfast and snack products, represents a homecoming for the 160-year-old Australian manufacturer.

“Arnott’s has been at the forefront of manufacturing in Australia for 160 years,” said Arnott’s Group CEO George Zoghbi at the opening. “Our new Rowville facility ensures we continue to drive product innovation and remain ready to cater to consumer trends as they emerge.”

The facility’s output is anything but small bickies. Each year, the site churns out 180 million muesli and protein bars, 40 million oat sachets, and enough muesli to fill 300 million breakfast bowls. The site manufactures products across several brands including Freedom Cereals, Messy Monkeys, Sunsol, Heritage Mill, Arnold’s Farm, Arnott’s Treatles and Sam’s Pantry.

Victorian Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing Colin Brooks attended the opening alongside several state and federal politicians. These included Member for Aston Mary Doyle, Member for Rowville Kim Wells, and Members for South-Eastern Metropolitan Michael Galea and Lee Tarlamis. Elder Mark Brown from the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation was also present.

The opening marked a significant milestone in Arnott’s manufacturing presence in Melbourne, with the company betting its chips on continued growth in the better-for-you category across supermarket aisles.
