The Australian Made, Australian Grown logo has been registered in three new destinations, the Australian Made Campaign Limited announced on Tuesday.

Singapore, New Zealand and Thailand have formally recognised the trademark across ten product classes, following work by IP specialist firm Wrays.

According to Austrade data, these destinations were the sixth, eighth and 14th-biggest importers of Australian merchandise in 2021, and worth $15.6 billion, $11.6 billion and $6.7 billion respectively.

Australian Made’s Chief Executive, Ben Lazzaro, said the green-and-gold kangaroo logo had been used to identify Australian goods in export markets for more than 35 years, and the new jurisdictions represented a “huge opportunity” for makers and growers.

“The formal logo registration in these regions provides an essential legal framework that exporters can rely upon if the logo is copied or used without proper authority,” added Lazzaro.
