Australia’s leadership in technology brings gentle wine filtration

Victorian company PTI Pacific has installed what it claims is the world’s most gentle Crossflow Wine Filtration plant in association with Stirling Packaging (pictured).

PTI is a young company specialising in process and monitoring equipment for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and medical sectors.

CEO Lee Carty says the company’s low-shear and low-pressure technology is unique. “Best of all, Australian Made!”

PTI Pacific recently was awarded an Accelerated Commercialisation Grant for the development of its degassing and gas management systems.

Australia has chalked up a number of wine technology firsts.

Most important was temperature controlled fermentation which made possible the production of wine of consistent quality from new world sources here, in South America and South Africa.
