Barrett receives new US communications order

Barrett Communications has announced a new partnership with US company Royal Communications International, and a new order for HF radio equipment for the US Mission in Central Asia.

The Perth company, which also manufactures in the United States, revealed a two-prong strategy to build sales to the world’s biggest defence custoer.

The first prong is the partnership under which Royal will provide sales, training, installation, technical and warranty support for the full range of Barrett HF systems.

The second is investment in its US manufacturing facility providing the company with a truly ‘Made in USA’ product offering.

The new order follows on from deliveries to meed the needs of the US-funded Counter Narcotics Global Threats programme in Central Asia.

This involved the PRC-2090 HF manpack (pictured) and vehicle systems that enhance strategic communications and force tracking capabilities, helping prevent illegal trafficking.
