BHP critical minerals accelerator seeking next year’s cohort

Manufacturing News

A six-month critical minerals accelerator run by BHP has begun accepting applications for next year’s cohort.

The Xplor program for early-stage explorers will run for a third year, and is open to companies seeking to uncover “new sources of critical minerals crucial for a sustainable future”.

According to statement from BHP on Tuesday, companies receive up to $500,0000 in equity-free funding, expert mentorship, and connections within BHP’s network, with the program also aiming to foster long-term relationships between participants and BHP.

“The program applications doubled from 2023 to 2024, and we are excited to see who will come forward for our 2025 program,” said BHP Xplor and Exploration Vice President, Sonia Scarselli.

“The increased demand for critical metals presents a unique opportunity for junior explorers, but success requires strong two-way partnerships built on trust.”

Applications close October 9 at 11:59pm (AEST.) More information is available here.
