Biome Australia reports 41 per cent sales growth in March quarter

Australian microbiome health company Biome Australia reported a 41 per cent increase in quarterly sales revenue to $4.5 million for Q3 FY25 compared to the same period last year, according to an ASX announcement on Tuesday.

The company’s financial year to date sales reached $13.4 million, representing a 46 per cent increase on the previous corresponding period. This growth comes despite Q3 typically being the industry’s slowest seasonal quarter due to reduced trading days and school holidays.

Same-store sales grew 45 per cent over the December to February period compared to the previous year, highlighting strong organic growth in existing distribution channels. The company has maintained a compounded annual growth rate of 70 per cent over the rolling three years to March 31.

During the quarter, Biome received the Terry White Chemmart retail supplier of the year award, placing it ahead of larger competitors in the pharmaceuticals and vitamin industries. The company’s Activated Probiotics brand has become one of the leading products by sales revenue in the practitioner-only vitamins category in Australian community pharmacies.

Biome expects to report its fifth consecutive quarter of positive EBITDA when it releases its appendix 4C later this month.

“As we enter the June quarter, Biome and our Activated Probiotics are well positioned for significant growth to close the financial year, aiming for our first full year of net profit,” said Blair Vega Norfolk, Biome Australia’s managing director and founder.

The company anticipates new product launches and new customers commencing trading both locally and abroad during Q4.
