Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions has earned a contract to automate handling, inspection and storage of blood plasma products at CSL Behring’s Broadmeadows site.
CSL Behring — a subsidiary of ASX-listed CSL — currently manually handles blood plasma at the site at freezing temperatures, requiring skilled operators to ensure stringent quality standards while moving plasma in and out of storage.
According to a statement from BAMS, the contract would make the process “more efficient and fully automatic” through “a material handling and inspection line that will allow more plasma bags to be packed – at up to one per second – while also ensuring temperatures remain stable for transport.”
