Aluminium products group Capral Aluminium has acquired EDGE Architectural Glazing Systems from Victorian based aluminium supplier Aluminium Industries of Australia.
This will see Capral supply products from the EDGE Architectural Glazing Systems range in Victoria and eventually to other parts of Australia.
Capral CEO Tony Dragicevich said: “This is an important acquisition for Capral as we continue to expand our offer to Australian window and door manufacturers across a range of markets.
“This is a well-designed, locally developed range of aluminium glazing systems that is well regarded by industry, and we are pleased to be able provide stability to its ongoing supply.
“We view this strategic acquisition as an opportunity to further strengthen our position as a leading Australian supplier of aluminium building system.”
The acquisition takes effect during June and Capral will progressively integrate the EDGE range across its supply network.
Capral’s Michael O’Keefe said: “The EDGE brand is highly regarded, by architects and building designers.
” Aluminium Industries should be commended for their development of such an innovative platform of glazing systems, which services predominately commercial projects.”
O’Keefe said the EDGE U-MAX thermally broken system delivers excellent thermal performance ratings, particularly when coupled with high performance glass options now available on the Australian market.
‘For specifiers in Victoria, access to a range of glazing systems which can deliver good thermal performance outcomes is critical for code compliance and Capral is pleased to be able to continue to offer this range to the market at a time when high performance systems are in greater demand than ever.”
As part of the acquisition, Capral will take ownership of a complete EDGE product range including associated equipment, and resources.
Capral said it was well placed to continue to offer a range of EDGE suites via its existing distribution network servicing window and door manufactures.
