Cellmid signs Asian distributor for hair loss products

Bio-technology developer Cellmid has signed a distribution agreement for Asia for its Jo-Ju and Lexilis branded anti-ageing hair care and skin products.

Hong Kong based Ourui Health Management will distribute the products outside Japan for a period of 10 years, utilising and omnichannel approach primarily focused on social commerce.

Ourui was founded by Steven Ko, an entrepreneur behind the successful Australian make-up brand Red Earth.

Cellmid CEO Maria Halasz said: “This is a transformational deal for Cellmid as it completes the foundation for our China growth strategy.,

“Jo-Ju and Lexilis are new brands in China, however there is an enormous and growing market for hair growth products, especially those with proven efficiency and strong scientific story.”

Cellmid’s Advangen subsidiary develops, manufactures and markets anti-aging products with its FGF5 inhibitor hair health and hair growth factor.

The flagship anti-aging hair care range, marketed as evolis, Advangen Jo-Ju and Lexilis is sold in channels including QVC Japan, premium retailer Nieman Marcus and Bloomingdales in the USA, Douglas Perfumery in Europe and in Priceline in Australia.

The company expects newly signed distribution agreements could contribute up to 40 per cent of the revenue by FY2013.
