Manufacturing News

Fromm Packaging Australia announced on Monday that it will acquire CHEP’s local stretch wrapping portfolio.

According to a statement from Fromm an agreement has been signed and the transfer of CHEP’s assets is effective on March 26.

“This transfer is an important step forward in our continued growth within the Australian packaging market. CHEP’s stretch wrapping customers can feel comfortable in knowing that it will be business as usual,” said Richard Layton, Fromm’s local Managing Director.

CHEP is part of ASX-listed Brambles and is best known for its pooling services of pallets and containers. It started its stretch wrapping service machine rental and film sales for its pallet customers.

Fromm Packaging Australia has its beginnings as Australian Warehouse Solutions, established 1977. It was acquired by the Swiss-owned Fromm Group — which operates in more than 50 countries — in 2010.

Fromm Packaging Australia designs and manufactures strapping and wrapping equipment and consumables for manufacturing and supply chain industry customers.
