Circle Awards launch for 2022

The Circle Awards AUS & NZ have returned, following an initial program that attracted 200 entries and more than 11,000 public votes.

The awards are presented by TMRRW, JOLT and Purpose Conference, and aim to “recognise the businesses, organisations, and individuals taking positive steps forward to make a better future a reality.”

Categories include Materials & Processes, B2B and Food & Drink, with new categories for this year of Local Government Areas, Research, and Under 19. A full list is reproduced below.

Businesses of all sizes may nominate, with a judging criteria considering merit rather than scale, according to a statement from the event’s organisers on Thursday.

“Our focus is on celebrating those making progress towards a better future, not just those who are doing things perfectly – we want The Circle Awards to be accessible to as many entrants as possible,” said Nick Hoskin, the awards’ founder.

Last year we had lots of questions about whether or not certain businesses were ‘good enough’ to enter, but we always encourage everyone to take part as even if they don’t win, they will still get value out of taking part.”

“To be recognised as a part of a community working on building a circular future was momentous for us and the team,” said Julia Kay, co-founder of Great Wrap, winner in the Home, Garden & Utilities category last year.

This year the judging panel has expanded to include 52 experts, with a People’s Choice vote also featuring.

Entries will open on July 20 and close September 20, with finalists announced October 10 and winners on October 19. More information can be found here.
