Solar PV glazing technology company ClearVue Technologies will have its products manufactured in the United States under a five-year manufacturing and distribution agreement signed with a Philadelphia company.
Commercial glazing manufacturer Graboyes Commercial Windows and Glass Solutions will be ClearVue’s sole distributor in the Pennsylvania and non-exclusive distributor throughout the US.
ClearVue is commercialising clear, solar PV glazing products and solutions, offering at its simplest, highly energy efficient, clear glass that generates electricity.
Its glass creates clean energy on site whilst minimising energy use within the building.
Graboyes has provided curtainwall solutions, window wall systems, storefront glazing and interior and exterior window coverings and controls for the past 37 years.
The company will focus on the ClearVue Smart Facade product that combines C02 sensors with automated ventilation powered by ClearVue PV glazing that brings in fresh air without the use of traditional air conditioning.
ClearVue executive chairman Victor Rosenberg said there was a strong focus on energy efficiency and using technology to solve climate crisis issues in the northwest of the US.
Rosenberg said: “There is a strong recognition of the need to decarbonise construction across the board.
“The agreement with Graboyes has an initial focus on upgrading ventilation of education facilities which are re-opening post Covid-19 across the US.
“It demonstrates yet another case use for the application of the ClearVue product.”
ClearVuePV uses nano and micro particle technology to internally diffuse, redistribute, and reflect elements of the incoming light towards the edges of the glass panel, where it is collected by monocrystalline silicon-based PV modules.
