ClearVue solar PV window’s domestic sale

Glazing systems that generate solar power developed by ClearVue Technologies are to be installed in their first domestic home in the suburb of Griffith in the Australian Capital Territory.

The Perth company has received an order for eight large solar PV powered skylights as well as a range of standard, non-solar double glazed windows and a glazed pool enclosure.

The luxury home (pictured) is being developed by ACT developer Custom Apartments in conjunction with builder Elm Building Group, to a design from Hugh Gordon Architects.

ClearVue’s clear, solar PV glazing products and solutions, offer highly energy efficient, clear glass that generates electricity.

The system has already been installed in commercial buildings in Australia and the region, and are being trialed in the United States.

ClearVue considers the commoditised skylight market as highly suitable for its products, given they they are manufactured in volume and are not customised and unique as are commercial building facades.

ClearVue’s Earle Harper said: “This sale represents the first use of the ClearVue product into a luxury residential project.

“Importantly it is a simpler sale for the company to support its commercialisation journey.”
