Codan to supply HF radio technology for Bushmaster

Defence

Codan Communications is to supply RF technology to Raytheon Australia which will ultimately be fitted to Australia’s Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles.

The Adelaide company has been selected by Raytheon Australia to develop and supply a High Frequency (HF) Amplifier and Antenna System as an element of the Force Level Electronic Warfare System – Land (FLEWS-L) being supplied to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The HF Amplifier and Antenna System will be based on an existing field proven system and will be an integral part of the Force-Level Electronic Warfare (EW) system for the Australian Army.

Under the LAND 555 Phase 6 Land Force Level Electronic Warfare project, the system will modify the existing Bushmaster with a new EW system, improving its ability to monitor and control the electronic environment.

Where necessary, the system could be used to deny or degrade the electronic systems of adversaries.

President, Codan Communications Paul Sangster said: “Codan being a 100 percent owned Australian company is delivering a truly sovereign HF radio solution for the ADF, ultimately helping protect and save the lives of Australians.”
