Comms equipment maker Mayfield sees bump in new work

Electrical and telecommunications infrastructure equipment maker Mayfield Group has announced $21.2 million in new orders for its manufacturing and services arms.

The new orders include electrical and telecommunications infrastructure with a variety of end-use applications.

Mayfield Group includes Mayfield industry, a major manufacturer of electrical control and protection systems, switchboards, and switchrooms for critical electrical infrastructure.

The company says of significance is the step into new contracts supporting projects in developing lithium and hydrogen production, which are critical elements in driving renewable and lower-emissions technologies.

Managing director John Hobbs says the company is confident in the year ahead, with its work-in-hand jumping by more than a quarter year-on-year, rising from $43 million at the end of September 2022 to $55 million.

Hobbs added that the South Australia-based company “is optimistic about the pipeline of future opportunities and our strategies of Australian manufacture and technology application”.
