Ground has been broken on DHL Supply Chain Australia’s upcoming transport and warehousing facility at Edinburgh Park, South Australia, which is being built by FDC.
The site will consolidate three of the company’s existing facilities into one central depot, and serve customers in retail, technology, consumer, life sciences and healthcare. It will act as the South Australian Transport Hub for DHL.
According to a statement from the company on Tuesday, the facility will include “sustainable elements” – citing EV charging for its truck and van fleet, a rooftop solar array, LED lighting, solar hot water, and intelligent building management – and is scheduled to be complete in Q3 next year.
CEO of DHL Supply Chain ANZ, Steve Thompsett, said the company is currently investing in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth to expand services.
“I’m particularly pleased that under the aegis of DHL Health Logistics, we’re bringing the highest quality Life Sciences and Healthcare storage and transport solutions to Adelaide,” he added.
