Covid-19 response register for manufacturers tops 2,000 submissions

The Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre has released a map and state-by-state breakdown of submissions to its Manufacturer Response Register, launched last month to coordinate a response by the industry to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Over 2,100 organisations and individuals have signed up, according to AMGC, which established the portal to collate interest and core competencies among those wanting to supply goods, services or knowledge during the pandemic.

“Federal and State governments have launched several initiatives to tap into the expertise listed in the Register and some of you have started to be part of working groups. At the same time, this Register is helping the Australian Government with its longer-term strategy on how to leverage the diversity of manufacturing capabilities for future requirements and preparations,” AMGC said in its newsletter on Monday.

“AMGC, in conjunction with Federal and State Governments, is focussing on capability matching. This process is underway to ensure a coordinated response to demands for essential products.”

By raw number, responses are being led by Victoria, followed by NSW.
