Bus manufacturer Custom Denning has laid claim to be first in Australia to produce an electric bus equipped with pantograph fast-charging capability (pictured).
Thirteen Element 2 buses are now equipped with pantograph charging, with the company demonstrating consecutive 1C fast-charging sessions using a single bus pantograph charger.
The event was witnessed by representatives from Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW).
The fast-charging buses are fitted with 462 kWh batteries which can be charged in less than 1 hour, helping keep transit operations on schedule, according to a Custom Denning social media post.

The pantograph system offers a flexible and versatile solution, according to the company

The newly upgraded Element 2 buses are scheduled to begin their rollout in the upcoming weeks.
