Glass Recycling has been granted a works approval from EPA Victoria to expand its Dandenong South operation, intending to increase processing from 10,000 tonnes to 60,000 tonnes a year.
The application was made in January. Recycled glass will be sold to fibreglass and concrete manufacturers. The site — which has been running since 2017 — will operate 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
The approval covers installation of
- Glass crusher
- Set of vibrating screens
- Feed Hopper
- Conveyor belt
- Dust collector
- Water sprayers
- Fire hose reels
- Fire extinguishers
- External fire hydrant
- Exit signage
- Emergency lighting.
