Defence catalogue updated to boost exports

The federal government has released the latest Australian Defence Export Catalogue.

This iteration of the catalogue features a record number of businesses showcasing export-ready products services and technologies, up 20 percent compared to the previous edition.

​The release of the 2024 catalogue comes on the back of the release of the Defence Industry Development Strategy, which highlighted the importance of driving export opportunities to grow the resilience of Australia’s sovereign defence industrial base.

The new edition of the catalogue reinforces thegovernment’s commitment to supporting local defence industry businesses to access global markets and integrate Australian ingenuity into global supply chains, ac cording to a statement.

All exports of controlled goods and technology are subject to an assessment process in accordance with Australia’s Defence Export Control legislation.

The Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy said: “It’s great to see so many Australian businesses promoting their products, services and technologies on the world stage, which will create jobs and help build our local defence industry.

“The record number of 302 companies participating in the 2024 catalogue also highlights that industry and the Albanese Government have a shared vision for growing exports.

“The catalogue underscores the Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting local defence industry to export Aussie defence technology and capability to the world, which further strengthens our sovereign defence industry.”
