Detmold produces one millionth surgical mask

South Australian producer Detmold Group has produced its millionth medical mask only 14 weeks after establishing its Detmold Medical offshoot.

The surgical grade PPE facemasks have been produced as new production machines at the company’s Brompton factory gear up to manufacture one million masks each day.

Detmold will produce 145 million masks – 45 million for SA Health and 100 million the Federal Government’s National Medical Stockpile.

SA Premier Steven Marshall said: “It’s a remarkable effort and one which will ensure our nation has the ability to produce its own medical supplies.”

Detmold are one of a number of local manufacturers who have stepped up to replace imports which sill dominate areas of production crucial to the economy.
