Development capital sector invests in manufacturing through Levett






Development capital interests have agreed to buy leading South Australian supplier of precision components and assemblies for defence and aerospace industries, Levett Engineering..

CPE Capital subsidiary ASDAM will add Levett to a growing portfolio of manufacturing interests, focused on high tecnology suppliers to defence prime contractors.

Levett provides complex parts for naval and air force equipment, and boats customers including BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, ASC and Pratt & Whitney.

It also builds medical lasers and pioneered the use of new manufacturing technologics such as Vacuum Brazing of aluminium components for complex electronic systems.

Levett joins Marand Precision Engineering as fundations for ASDAM’s planned precision engineering company to support the Australian defence and aerospace industry.

Paul Levett who founded Levett in 1989 said: “”The acquisition by CPE Capital’s Australian defence portfolio company will provide the capacity and capability to better service our existing clients in the Joint Strike Fighter Program.

“(And it creates) the platform to service new clients in different domains and programs.”

Paul Levett established his credentials in the Weapons Research Establishment in Adelaide, with the company located nearby at Elizabeth, South Australia.
