DroneShield announces record-breaking order worth $61.6 million

Counter-drone business DroneShield has announced three standalone follow-on contracts, worth a total of $61.6, representing “the biggest single order” in its history and topping its entire revenue of $57.5 million for 2024.

According to a statement from the company on Wednesday, the contracts were from its privately owned in-country European reseller, to be distributed to a European military customer, and are for handheld detection and counterdrone systems and associated accessories.

Delivery of all equipment is expected “throughout Q3 2025, with cash payment expected in Q3 and Q4 2025.”

Oleg Vornik, DroneShield CEO, said, “In succession to the $32.3 million repeat order announced on 14 April 2025 for another customer, DroneShield products are now being purchased in material quantities.

“The scale and frequency [of] orders has been increasing as leading Military customers are moving from testing hardware to broader rollouts. DroneShield is well placed to meet the increasing demand.”

DroneShield said that it had previously won a single contract from the unnamed customer in April last year, totalling approximately $0.5 million.

“There is no obligation for any additional contracts from this reseller or the customer” it said, and added that DroneShield “does not consider the identity of the counterparty/customer to be information that a reasonable person would expect to have a material effect on the price or value of the DroneShield’s securities”.

The news follows DroneShield recently sharing its ambitions to support defence programs such as the €800 billion (circa A$1.4 trillion) ReArm Europe Plan/Readiness 2030 plan, and to establish a European manufacturing and in-house assembly facility.

It would be the first such overseas facility for the Sydney-based business.
