A brewery and restaurant at Albany, Western Australia received a visit from premier Roger Cook ahead of its planned opening in November.
Dune Brewery – billed as a “family-friendly microbrewery” – received a $150,000 grant under WA’s Regional Economic Development program in 2020.
According to Dune Beer Co’s website the facility will create “exciting and reliable beer and products” at a venue that “combines local produce, great beer and a respectful connection to the land”.
“Projects like this are great examples of how local people with big ideas can contribute to building their community,” said Cook, who toured the site with regional development minister Don Punch on Tuesday.
“Dune Brewery is an exciting addition to Albany, and I’m looking forward to enjoying a drink and a meal at their beautiful venue once they open in November.”
News site The Albany Advertiser reports that the business – a joint venture between local siblings Kate and Will Marwick – plans to brew “upwards of” 80,000 litres of beer per annum. This will be made up of a range of four or five core “classic craft beer” types, plus a similar number of seasonal brews per year.
