ECT shows off lignite to hydrogen demonstration plant – video

Environmental Clean Technologies has released a video tour (below) showing progress in construction of its brown coal syngas into hydrogen and low emission electricity demonstration project at its site at Bacchus Marsh,Victoria.

ECT experienced ‘tremendous supply chain disruption and labour market constraints’ during the Covid-19 pandemic, however the project team recently delivered a successful wet commissioning test, producing COLDry pellets within target specification.

“The next steps include the completion of wet commissioning from the primary processing system (mixer, pugmill & extruder) through to the conditioning system to measure the drying performance of this first-of-a-kind design.”

Coldry, claimed to dry lignite with zero direct-CO2 emissions, is planned for a major project at the Yallourn power station site in Victoria.
