EdenCrete additive accepted in 17 US states

Carbon nanotube concrete additive developer, Eden Innovations (ASX: EDE) has had its products approved for use in the US state of Vermont.

The company announced the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) had approved both EdenCrete and Edencrete Pz, which improves concrete performance with a high content of pozzolans such as fly ash, slag, silica fume.

EdenCrete, a carbon nanotube enriched admixture for concrete, is especially suited for strengthening bridges and other structures.

It increases compression strength, flexural strength, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, reduces shrinkage and reduces permeability of concrete.

The news, which brings to 17 the number of US states where its EdenCrete products are sold, tops a strong year for the company.

Earlier this year the company reported its first significant sales.

The company reported sales of $416,000 for the quarter to the end of march, compared to only $19,000 in the same period last year.

Sales of OptiBlend, its retrofit kit that allows diesel generator sets to run on natural gas, also rose to $113,000.

The 17 states where the product is in use covers 44 per cent of total US population.
